Meet Pigeon! This special girl was found outside on her own. She ran right up to the people who found her like she was asking for help. Pigeon has a noticeable head tilt towards the right. She looks like she is listening very carefully, but she can't hear a thing! Pigeon had an object lodged in her ear that led to ear infections, which caused hearing loss. She has been treated for the infection and does not need any ongoing care, but she is deaf or partially deaf. Because of this, Piegon's meow can be extra loud - she doesn't know how much noise she can make! Other than that, Pigeon is completely unaffected by her differences. Her head will likely remain tilted but she gets around well and is speedy as can be.
Pigeon is lively, playful, and so funny. She will follow you around the house as your little shadow. Pigeon is very inquisitive. She loves new toys and new people. She especially loves being the center of attention and can never get enough pets! Pigeon loves other cats and would do well with a playmate. She does well with children but has not met dogs yet. She should adjust easily with appropriate introductions and patience - dogs may be scary at first since she can't hear them coming. Pigeon is being fostered in Akron, OH. She is about 4 months old.
Pigeon's adoption fee of $100 includes: negative test for Feline Leukemia (FELV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), spay surgery, feline leukemia, FVRCP, and Rabies vaccines, de-worming, topical flea protection, and a microchip. Pigeon will not be ready to go home with her new family until the weekend of Friday, 8/29 and we would love to have a home waiting for her - we are scheduling adoption meetings now. To hold Pigeon until her adoption date, we will collect a $50 deposit (deducted from her adoption fee) and sign the adoption contract.
