Duke Boy
Hi everyone!
I am Sir Duke of Girard and will be 10 years old December 25th of this year! I chose Denise to become my new mom and am having the time of my life!
Everyone thinks senior dogs like me have a short life span and a lot of medical issues, but this is not so! We are lovable, caring, and just downright loyal and when you see this picture of me you will see I look awesome!
I live in an apartment, but everyone in here knows me, and Helen, my landlady, but really good buddy, loves to spend time with me and takes me for visits with her mom!
I am an avid walker, except when it rains, and love everybody I meet. I have gone for car rides with my new mom and her sister, my new aunt, and have gotten an ice cream cone! ...some meatball pieces too....
I am a healing dog I am being told, as there was a tragedy and I help everyone feel better. I was also told I am everyone's dog as everyone loves me...but what's not to like about a senior?
Thank you to my mom Karen who loved me and always called me her special one and to Rosie who gave me a chance at love. Without these 2 really great people, as well as the ones I now am surrounded by, I would be a lost soul......
Thank you...I love you
Sir Duke of Girard

Adopting from Roses Rescue has always been a wonderful experience. As you may know, or donât know, this was our second thru Roses. We have been beyond thrilled & are so thankful this holiday season to have a well rounded family! We wish you & everyone at Roses Rescue & families a happy & healthy holiday season.
P.s. am enclosing pictures. In picture with my husband on couch. On left Trinity (formerly Mindy, thru Roses Rescue), on right, Yeager (on couch, thru Roses Rescue) and the big boy in front is Cypher (formerly Ralph thru Columbiana pound in Lisbon).

His facial expression just get me every time! So expressive! He & Trin have started playing a lot. Great for both. She needs to lose weight & he s got the energy to burn. Sammy
We adopted Sammy, a yellow lab, from Roses and we are thrilled!!! He is such a good boy and joy to have as part of our family!!! He has some allergies that Rose told us about but we took him to an allergy specialist vet and had him tested and found out he is allergic to just about every kind of grass and weed there is and dust mites so he would have to be on shots, which stopped working or allergy pills, which we didnât want for him for the rest of his life. So the vet recommended having allergy drops made specially for what he is allergic to. He just started on the drops this past week and they normally work in 60% of dogs. I have to give him 2 drops twice a day to start building up his immunity to what he is allergic to. Letâs hope they work for him.
We brought him with us to our home in Florida and I donât think his allergies are as bad down here.
Otherwise all is good with Sammy. He has lost about 3-5 lbs since we got him b/c he runs around and plays all day!! And goes for long walks and is totally addicted to tennis balls and chasing them all day!! He is very happy and gets along great with our female 3 yr old black lab.
We are so glad we found Sammy and even after a few short months he is such a BIG and special part of our family!! Thanks to Roses Rescue!!!
PS. Tell Rose I did put him and Zoe on a natural diet and he gets home cooked meals everyday and is absolutely LOVING his food and that helped his coat get really healthy and soft. He is doing fantastic on the new diet!!!
