UPDATE: Junior has recently joined the cell dog program.  During this program he will be trained by selected inmates who will be overseen by a professional dog trainer. He will attend classes to learn more about house training, basic obedience and some fun tricks too! Junior can be visited and even adopted while he is in the Cell Dog program.

This is sweet Junior and he needs a little help. He was surrendered to the dog pound by his owner. While at the pound his foot became infected and he was taken to the veterinarian by one of the wonderful volunteers. After a little laser surgery his abscessed foot is healing. He was lucky to be able to stay with the volunteer while she was home on vacation, but she has had to leave and Junior has had to go back to the pound. He will be well cared for there, but would do better in a home. Please if you can give Junior a foster home while he is up for adoption, that would be wonderful or if you can give him a forever home, that is even better.

This is what Junior's temporary foster mama had to say about him:

Junior is an amazing dog and anyone who knows me, knows how attached I am to this magnificent animal. He was a charmer in my home for the week and a half that I fostered him for the Pound. He let me play with his food, touch any part of his body, he was neutered that week and took it exceptionally well, despite my husband believing he was going to be mad at me (smile), he LOVES to play tug of war with the rope bone, LOVES squeaker toys (well he loves to destroy them and get the tasty squeaker surprise inside), wasn't bothered or much interested in my Mother's outdoor cat and didn't mind my Sister's grumpy dog Jake (smile!). After three days in my home, we tested him off leash and he passed with flying colors. The last three days, we were able to take him out to run and potty without the leash. He returned on recall. When he runs, he is FAST and looks like a beast with his cheeks flying back and his white chompers present. It is hillarious and charming. He runs so fast toward you but is very cognizant of your presence and doesn't get close to run you over. He LOVES car rides and any time you'd be worried he wouldn't return to you, simply open your car door and he'll return immediately. I want nothing but the best for this wonderful family dog!
