We actually went to the pound to rescue a different dog when we noticed this small young Lab mix calmly laying in his cage while other dogs barked and and carried on like crazy.  After getting him out to give him a closer look, he remained just as calm.  He also seemed friendly and good natured.  We could not leave him behind.

Buck looks just like a yellow Lab but is small - he weighs just about 30 lbs now and will probably gain about 10 more as he finishes growing.  He is still very young, and the vet estimates him to be around 6 months old.  He is fine with other dogs, and just seems to be a happy, gentle soul.  He was very good while letting us trim his nails and just sat there without complaint.  He does like his toys and likes to chew on nylabones and such.

We'll add more once we get to know him better, but our first impression is that he's a great dog and would make a fine addition to any family or pack!
