UPDATE 1-2011: Duke has completed his training and is ready for a forever home!  If you are looking for a trained German Shepherd Dog who is good with kids and other dogs, he's ready to go home with you now!

UPDATE: Duke has recently joined the cell dog program.  During this program he will be trained by selected inmates who will be overseen by a professional dog trainer. He will attend classes to learn more about house training, basic obedience and some fun tricks too!  Duke can be visited and even adopted while he is in the Cell Dog program.

Hi My name is Duke and I was found running in a nearby small town.  I took up residence on a family's front porch and helped walk their kids to and from the school bus each day.  Finally it was decided that wasn't a very good life for such a loving boy like me, so I have come to the rescue.  I am a 1 to 2 year old German Shepherd mix, apx 60 pounds.  I am a big puppy who loves to play  with people ,dogs, and children.  I am up to date on my vaccines and neutered.  I am in the awesome Cell Dog program now to learn the skills I will need to be a great family dog.  They say I am very smart and have already learned to kennel up on command.  If you choose me to join your family,  you won't be sorry.   Please fill out the adoption application below.  Love, Duke
