Meet Rabbit De Niro!

Despite the name, she is a girl! We just didn't know that at first! We found Rabbit De Niro outside after what appeared that she had been dumped. We had to chase her down a little, but quickly caught her with a net. When we brought Rabbit De Niro home we quickly realized she was friendly! She's a little timid at first and doesn't like to be held, but can be picked up to be moved around briefly. Rabbit spends half of her day in her hutch eating hay (that she actually isn't a huge fan of), eating dark leafy greens and bananas (that she's a HUGE fan of), and playing with her toys (that she's also a huge fan of). The other half of the day she roams a foster room and plays and explores freely and unsupervised! She's really well behaved and majority of the time goes back into her litter box to use the restroom. Litter training is new to Rabbit, but she's been super successful so far, we just make sure to clean her litter box every day. If you have any cords in the room she will chew them. We just make sure nothing is plugged in while she's roaming where she can reach.

Rabbit De Niro has recently been spayed and examined by the vet. It is estimated that she's about a year old and in great condition now! When we found Rabbit it was evident that she had been living in a small cage and sitting in her own urine and feces. Her legs were all stained and the hair had been lightened as a result of this. We want to make sure that whatever home Rabbit goes to, she will have access to at least a room to roam for a portion of the day. We want to make sure she's never confined to living in just a cage again and has an appropriate hutch or x pen to exist freely and get her exorcize in.

If you feel you'd be a good match for Rabbit De Niro, submit an application to Rose's Rescue and her foster mom will be in contact with you shortly.
