Hi, I’m Dixie, a very sweet, fun-loving girl. I am a young 10 and only 25 pounds. By no fault of my own, I have found myself in need of a superhero to step up and share their loving home with me. Unfortunately, I lost my home when my mom moved and couldn’t take me with her. Let me tell you a little bit about myself… I am a very sweet, kind, and relatively calm dog. I so much appreciate the attention of my foster parents loving on me. I walk well on a leash and need someone who is able to take me for a couple of walks a day. My walks are definitely the highlight of my day. I just found out that I also very much enjoy playing with toys and chasing balls, so it would be great if you could play with me once in a while.  I also do okay staying home alone for a few hours a day as long as you are up for a very warm welcome full of kisses when you walk in the door. I have heard people calling me a senior, but I don’t feel or act like a senior, plus the long life expectancy of my breed puts me right in the prime of my life. I get along with other dogs,but being a calmer gal, a calmer dog is  best. The same goes for young, active kids. Genteel works for me. The bottom line is that I would be most happy in a calm home with a retired couple or person who is active enough to take me for walks, willing to give me love, and would enjoy playing with me once in a while. By the way, I have never been around cats, so I don’t know what I would think of them. I do need allergy shots aver 8 weeks. they cost apx $35 a month. I am very calm at the vet and they love me.
