My name is Rocky, as in "Rocky Road" for that is what my life has been this year. My human mama went to heaven and I am looking for someone who will love and care for me and the special needs that I have. I've had a long standing problem with allergies but since coming to rescue some other treatable medical issues have come to light. I am a quiet obedient 10 year old, 12 lb.boy with decidedly bowed legs and a charming under bite.I'm all caught up on my vaccinations and am heart worm negative. My favorite hobbies are sleeping and eating. I will go outside and do my business, but then I want to come inside and sleep in my big fluffy calming bed or sit next to you.Meals and snack time are my favorite part of the day. I get along fine with the little dogs here and am able to negotiate a couple of steps to get to the yard but more than that would be hard for me to do.Would you give me a second chance, I'm worth it! From Rocky's foster mom: Rocky has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and dry eye. He also has arthritic issues and a heart murmur(no medication required at this time). His long standing allergies have left him with hair loss on his neck and the upper part of his torso and may not grow back.I keep him on a lamb and rice diet and add a joint supplement and omega 3 fish oil to his diet. He is very good about receiving his eye ointment twice a day and takes his other medications in a pill pocket or piece of vienna sausage. His current medications are apoquel, levothyroxine, carpofen, Optimmune eye ointment. Rose's Rescue will provide payment for half of his medication for the duration of his life as the monthly total will be about $125. He is a sweet old fella looking for a compassionate owner who wants to provide an older dog with the best for the time he has left.
