WELCOME

Rose's Rescue is 501c3 non-profit all-breed rescue run by a small group of volunteers. We primarily focus on local pound rescues because we feel these are the animals in the most dire need of a second chance.

We are committed to educating the public on the importance of spay and neuter, routine vaccinations, heartworm protection, and aids and leukemia testing for cats.

We would like to send a big thank-you to :

Portage Frosted Foods of
Ravenna for being so kind and  supplying us with dog bones.

Portage County Insurance Association
for their generous donation.

Our Guardian Angel, Helen, for an extremely generous donation towards the raising of a quarantine barn and other remodeling.

The Haslinger Foundation,  for their very large donation to keep our
Prison Cell Dog Program up and running.

Caston Massage Therapy for a tremendously successful fundraiser.

Ravenna American Legion for the donation from their bingo fund.

Brimfield Grange Insurance Agency , and all of the other donaters with a special mention to Jean, who have loyally supported our efforts to help our homeless furry friends.
We were very blessed this holiday season with all our supporters to help us
with our cause.

Prison Program

Our dogs currently in the prison program will be graduating on Aug. 6th. The majority are available and ready for adoption NOW.

During the almost 2 month Cell Dog Training Program each dog is trained by selected inmates at Trumbull Correctional Institution, overseen by professional dog trainers Bill Oliver (www.customcaninecomany.com) and Patty Vesalo (http://cleverpup101.com) who volunteer their time to help train our Cell Dogs. The dogs attend classes to learn and improve their skills at house training, basic obedience, and some fun tricks too! A Cell Dog graduate will know basic verbal commands with hand signals such as "sit", "stay", "lie down", "heel", "wait", as well as perhaps some fancier tricks like "shake", "sit pretty", "high-five", "bang/play dead".  Have you ever met a dog  who can "stick-`em-up"?  A rescued dog with Cell Dog Training also gains vital socialization with people and with other dogs.
Cell Dogs can be visited and even adopted while in the Cell Dog Training Program or after they have graduated.  All of the Cell Dogs, currently in training or graduated, are marked as such on our list of adoptables on petfinder.com.

Please fill out a volunteer application or email us for more information.

News Alert

SPECIAL THANKS

Rose’s Rescue would like to thank and acknowledge the longstanding support of Dr. Tiffany Drach, and the rest of the staff at Boston Heights Veterinary Hospital.   Whether it is getting our dogs spayed and neutered, treated for heartworm, helping save a litter of puppies exposed to parvovirus, or seeing to any of the other countless exams, medications, and surgeries they require, Dr. Tiffany, Dr. Glenn, and their caring staff are always there for us.   Without their kind and generous assistance, we could never afford to save the countless dogs (and a few cats) that we do, week after week, year after year, and to see that these animals always get the medical care they need. We truly could not do this without them.

Thank you to  Shaggy-doo Dog Grooming for complimentary groomings.  Our dogs have never looked better!

Thank you to Bruce, owner of Handel's Ice Cream in Stow, for giving all new adopters a pint of their homemade ice cream.  Be sure to ask for your coupon!

Need A Pet Sitter
